Preparing to read some books that I think are worth reading!
There's a couple books on my e-reader that I am looking forward to reading in the next few weeks - one which I bought a few weeks back and that I haven't got around to is Dan McLellan's 'The Bible Says So' - it's a Biblical Scholar's response to common misunderstandings and misinformation about the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures. I already watch Dan's excellent videos on Social Media, they're available on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Insta, all the usual suspects and worth checking out. And it seems that reading about engaging with Scripture (which, to be clear, is a lot of what I do for a living) is where my focus is being drawn at present because I have pre-ordered a copy of Zach Lambert's Better Ways to Read the Bible. I have also joined the book launch team for Zach's book so I have been given an advance copy. I think having paid for a copy myself (which I am very happy to have done) will keep me honest about how I feel about the book! I like the look of it, and the premise of 'Transforming a Weapon of Harm into a Tool of Healing.' seems to me a very healthy way of engaging with these ancient texts which inform and guide our faith!
